I am determined to finish some things that have been sitting around for years. Mainly because there is no way I can justify STARTING things I would like to, because if I am not going to finish them, I might as well not start them... right... So, to that end, I am going to attempt to keep myself a bit accountable about my mission by starting posting about my accomplishments... Hopefully they will soon be many.

New vocab term
I learned a new word this week. My fifth graders were lining up to leave at the end of the day. Two bent over to pick up their backpacks and when they were coming up they (not sure how it could really be done accidentally) but they "lip butted." What in the world is that? you ask. That is what they said in surprise when they stood back up, anyway. I guess lip butting is sorta like head butting, but with your lips? The two boys didn't really seem to phased by the fact that they just kissed in my line, I guess it is manly when you call it lip butting. Maybe it isn't a useful term, but it is amusing.

3 down
I have finished 3 quilt tops from leftover scrubs in the last two days. That is excessive productivity (for me anyway) two are just 6 inch squares, so easy, cheezy... one is a mix of various squares and rectangles. Alissa oddly didn't get attached to the pooh one, she got attached to the green and brown one. You can see them on my flickr page (and vote for a lay out of my neutral/green/brown log cabin which I can't seem to decide on... I have also been plugging away at the knit blankie for a friend's shower on thursday, but now Alissa wants to make a quilt and we found fabric in the box--I am a fan of anything that gets scrub fabric OUT of the house, but sneaking it past Alissa is proving to be a challenge, I took the Project Linus tops without her realizing a couple of them were leaving. She was really attached to one that she wanted to save for a possible future boy-child... I keep telling her we can buy fabric (and you know she will) for her own child... and that it is ok to really like something and NOT keep it forever... and that she has a whole top of these fabrics that she is so attached to... but... so we have a baby blanket to make in the next couple days. Pink and brown flowers... I'll take a photo when it is done...
